Management change at Koenig & Bauer

After 25 years with the company, Ralf Sammeck, member of the Koenig & Bauer AG management board and CEO of the Sheetfed segment, will retire in June 2025. He will be succeeded by Markus Weiß, who will assume the role of Managing Director and CEO of Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed AG & Co. KG from 1 February 2025.

Ralf Sammeck began his career at Koenig & Bauer in 2000 and took up a position on the company's Management Board in 2007. During his tenure, he was instrumental in driving the strategic development of the segment. This included the expansion of the product portfolio to include prepress software, postpress machines and digital printing solutions as well as the expansion of digital services. Under his leadership, the Sheetfed segment's market share increased significantly. Dr Andreas Pleßke, CEO of Koenig & Bauer, emphasised Sammeck's important role in strengthening market leadership in the packaging sector and his close customer focus.

Markus Weiß is an experienced successor with extensive knowledge of the printing industry and a strong international network. The change is part of a long-term succession plan to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in the strategic direction of the Paper & Packaging segment.

‘Offset printing will remain the leading technology in packaging and commercial printing in the long term, complemented by innovative solutions in the prepress and postpress area. At the same time, digital printing is becoming increasingly important. The optimal combination of both technologies opens up new growth opportunities for our customers and shows that their joint utilisation will shape the future of the printing industry.
